Introduction

Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen; thank you Dave for that introduction.

I'm only going to speak for a couple of minutes tonight because of my throat; …if I go on any longer than that then Dave's Mum will definitely strangle me.

It's a real honour for me to be Dave's best man, and to take part in something unique - for the next few minutes Dave will be centre of attention but for once it won't actually be Dave that's talking.

The story of Dave's life is full of entertainment and my job tonight is to remind you of a few of his classic moments - I'll try not to enjoy it too much I promise.

I asked Dave last week if he had any stories he was particularly proud of or anything he really wanted to blow his own trumpet about - he replied "um, if I could blow my own trumpet then I wouldn't need to marry Ailsa".
