Turin Brakes - The Jericho, Oxford

For what must have been to promote their album (buy it) Turin Brakes played an acoustic set in the Jericho playing all there material from all 3 albums. It was a great gig we were able to have some banter and the Brakes even needed to have an explanation that been called NICE was one of the greatest complements a colonel could give.

It is amazing how much depth two guitars, a bass and two exceptional voices can give all I can say is brilliant was a privilege to be in that small pub

Turin Brakes - JackInABox (buy it)

BBC Review
Indie London

Like all of their albums this took me a couple of weeks to get in to, but they slowly seep in until you are hooked. All the songs are good with some which are just belters. For me 'Last Clown' and 'Asleep With The Fireflys' are brilliant.

There are great vocals and lyrics backed up with great musicanship what more do you need

Intelligent MIDI Sequencing with Hamster Control

This dude was interested in exploring the MIDI protocol and designed this work of genius. Using hamsters to play choons is the way forward and could be scaled up to do all sorts of genre of music and animals maybe even badgers (which is nice). Ling live the nerd!!!

It still doesn't justify that stupid kinda pinky/perky kinda chipmunk crap used by that Akon in his hit single (ha ha), lonely. His pop video he is strolling around trying to be a big hard gangster while he's got the frikin chipmunks in the background. He is expecting respect from this track????

Almost There

After another weekend in the garden, we had my Dad and brother down again to put the turf down. Good old cowboy, cowboy, cowboy and cowboy (Ailsa obviously now under the Homfray name adopts the famous cowboy name) managed to pretty much finally break the back of the garden!!!

therefore I thought I would put up some pictures showing before and after to show where we have come from. Ailsa and I enjoyed our first proper barbie on Saturday night, which was a truly spiritual moment
