Star Wars Trilogy Out on DVD

Well Friday I watched my new Starwars Triology DVD box set with a few of the boys (and wifey) and what a way to spend a day!!!!!

Taking a days holiday without any other thought other than to drink beer, eat pizza and watch the Trilogy is the way forward. The documentry on making the films was absolutely brilliant as well. Buy it

I also received in the post the new Star Wars Battlefront. If you like the thought of recreating the Hoth battle scene at the beginning of 'Empire Strikes Back' or being a stormtrooper in Mos Eisley, being a clone in the huge battle at Geonosis or any other planet you can think of then this is the game for you. buy it

Colonels Abroad - Sheppard and Kate

We're having a great time. I won't bore you with all the details but just give you a few of the highlights.

Washington - interesting place, but very business orientated and very tourist friendly really. In fact most people were miserable (so i should fit in well
then eh!!). We went to Arlington Cemetery (had this changing of the guard thing at the tomb of the unknown soldier that was very OTT. The yanks seemed to love it
- "that's quite a ceremony isn't it", while Kate & I had trouble not laughing out loud at it), Washington monument, Lincoln memorial and Union station. We didn't get to go round the white house (2 - 6 month wait, with tickets via the embassy) or the FBI building (no tours till 2006).

NYC - interesting place again, but in complete contrast to DC. What a mental place. The pace is relentlessly fast and most people are quite rude and up their own arse. Still the sights are cool - Empire State Building (day & night - probably the best thing we've done so far), Staten Island Ferry, Times Square, Grand Central Station, Phantom of the Opera on Broadway (this was really good), bus tours of downtown & uptown Manhattan and lots of walking!! Had a great pizza in Little Italy, courtesy of Gibby's recommendation. I even managed to catch the LFC goals from the weekend on some random channel at the hotel. Nice!! Anyway, pleased to leave NY after a week there. It was cool but too hectic really and not a very friendly vibe.

Toronto - Only been here 2 days but another completely different place. The people are extremely friendly and helpful - massive shock after NY! There also seems to be a lot do here too. We've already been up the CN tower (tallest free standing structure in the world, with the highest observation deck, with a glass floor
- a bit unnerving!!). We're going to the Sky dome tonight to see the baseball, which should be cool.

Anyway, that's enough waffling from me for now, I'm sure you've all got better things to do!! We're planning on checking our email once a week, in case you reply and think we're being rude. Nice.

Take care everyone, look forward to hearing from you soon.

Nice

Europe revel in Ryder glory

Ryder Cup 2004

Well I haven't had this much fun with my trousers on. Me and Raigly watched the singles last night and to begin with it looked quite bad for the Europeans but all of a sudden with a mighty win from Garcia the boys not only retained the cup they gave the US and absolute spanking.

I willed every American golf ball into the sand traps and every European in to the hole.

It was TOP!!!
