Dave and Kate get married

Click to enlargeWell Kate and Dave became Mr and Mrs Sheppard, and it was a brilliant day alround, even I as best man managed to not lose the rings (although Dave only trusted them to me for about 2 seconds before the vicar asked for them) and people almost laughed at my Best Mans Speech.

Click to enlargeThe day before the boys met up at the Ibis Hotel in Swindon and had a few more beers than first expected. I woke up on the day having a wee hangover, We then drove down to where the reception was being held (and where we were staying) and got changed. I then drove the groom down to the church, I had decided that what we needed was some nice choons to make him less nervous so after Cyprus Hill - Cock the Hammer and Run DMC - Walk this Way we where already in the head bobbing mood. After a faultless service (I had quite a nice sing song apart from the last hymn which I had never heard before and had to lip sync) we went back to have the reception and after a nice meal me a Sheppard’s dad got blind drunk.

Click to enlargeKate looked absolutely beautiful on the day and the whole thing was fairly emotional for everyone I think. I am bloody proud of both of them, in the last few years they have not only bloomed as a couple but also individually both of them have become more confident with belief in themselves and each other. I love them both very dearly, and I look forward to a few beers with them for the umpteenth anniversary.

NICE

Channel 4 News - Shades of gray

click for full size picture
Artwork by Justin Hampton

I am excited about music!!!! JayZ, who I never liked before yesterday (who now has cult status in my book) made an album called 'The Black Album' and of course the Beatles did 'The White Album', one of my top 5 favourite albums ever. A dude from LA called Danger Mouse decided to mix the two together and make 'The Grey Album'. I love the beatles and I love rap, OH MY GOD I LOVE THIS ALBUM!!!!!!!! I am not bothered with royalties, I am not bothered with EMI getting all shirty, people should be able to listen to this I am going to buy a copy of JayZ's Black Album and I already have two originals of the White Album surely I must therefore OK to have this bloody album!!! You can download the album here. Now I know there are going to be people that say you should leave the white album alone but surely this is the ultimate respect the sounds on this album are so innovative and so well made why not use them as samples if the result is good. Absolute genius

Danger Mouse says

The Grey Album is an art project/experiment that uses the full vocal content of Jay-Z's Black Album recorded over new beats and production made using the Beatles White Album as the sole source material. Danger Mouse insists he can explain and prove that all the music on the Grey Album can be traced back to the White Album and its musical content via sampling. Every kick, snare, and chord is taken from the Beatles White Album and is in their original recording somwhere.

Special Tracks are

Track 2 - 'What more can I say', with 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps' oh my god CHOON
Track 3 - 'Encore', with samples from 'Glass Onion', CCCCCCHHHHOOOOOONNNNNN
Track 6 - 'Encore', with samples from 'Julia', Check this start out absolutely brilliant, CCCCCCHHHHOOOOOONNNNNN

Thanks Gaz

What's the difference between Manchester united and Leicester City?

Leicester still have 3 players in Europe.

Click to Donate

Got an e-mail from Sal saying that a US website (thebreastcancersite) isn't getting enough clicks to provide free mammograms for women in the US.

That reminded me about the Hungersite and it made me have a look for other click for charity sites and I found very quickly a LOT

Groups that support multiple charities

  • The Hungersite, one of the oldest click to donate sites.
  • The Breastcancersite, from the same people as the Hungersite.
  • The Rainforestsite, another one in this group.
  • The Animal Rescue site, yet again a site from the same people, for domestic animals.
  • The Child Health site, a new site, fifth in the group.
  • Ecologyfund.com, has five projects, you can click once on each project and double your donation to most of them if you visit one of their sponsor's websites. A decent value per click, too. If you're short on time and don't want to click all, consider chosing this one. On this site, clicking the sponsor's links increases the donation.
  • Race for the Rainforest, a project from Care2 that tracks your progress and encourages
you to get others involved. You get to chose between clicking for the rainforest, marine wetlands, or prairie.
  • Race for the Big Cats, from the same people, has three different big cats to chose from.
  • Race for the Oceans, save dolphins and other sea life!
  • End Breast Cancer, another one in the Care2 group.
  • Race for the Primates, save primates and their habitat.
  • Race for abandoned pets, also from Care2.
  • Children in need, also from Care2.
  • Free donations, this is a very nice site with eight different projects: Stop AIDS, Support the Arts,
Defeat Cancer, For the Children, Promote Education, Protect Environment, House the Homeless and End Hunger. And you can click 20 times for each
project, every day. Of course, if you don't feel like that you can click once a project, too.
  • KlickDieSpende, German site where you can donate for four programs, kids in third world countries,
WWF, schools in Pakistan, and Greenpeace. Good value: 0.05 Euro each!
  • Click2Care, Dutch site where you can pick out of a long list of charities where you want your donation to go to.
Environment
Health
  • Stop HIV, help stop AIDS.
  • MaterCare, help mothers in thirdworld countries who suffer from obstetric fistula, a severe but easily corrected birth trauma.
  • Help mothers, a fund for mostly young mothers who get pregnant, want their baby but have no means to support it.
  • Child medical care, Give a Minute of medical care to a child.
  • CancerCharities.com, another site to help fight cancer.
  • Brazilian site against AIDS.
  • Search for Humanity, please make a valid search (search and click on at least one result) using the search engines listed in the menu on the left of the page.
  • The Search for a Cure, please make a valid search for the children's cancer campaign.
Food and water
  • WaterSite, help dig a well. Let's try to get this one up to 4 million clicks
  • SemiArid, helping all people with access to safe, clean water.
  • Stop hunger, for the poor in America. Not all hungry children live in the third world! Great value per click!
  • Hungry children, help feed a hungry child. Once again, sponsors donate extra if you click their banners.
  • Against hunger, select a topic that interests you to make your donation. Also has an 'Against hunger surf bar', a small pop-up window that shows various advertisements and every three minutes shows a 'click to feed the hungry' link. Click it each time to donate a cup of food.
  • The Good Spider, provides staple grain for the hungry.
  • Feed South Africa, help feed a hungry person in South Africa.
  • Click fome, a Brazilian site against hunger.
  • Brazilian site against hunger.
  • Voedselhulp, Dutch site against hunger. Great value per click!
  • Hambruna.com, Spanish site against hunger.
  • Le site de la faim, French site against hunger.
  • Polska Akcja Humanitarna, Polish site against hunger.

  • Solve poverty, helps parents and children. Great value! $0.25 per click!
  • Clear Landmines, help the people get rid of these deadly relics of war.
  • Povertyfighters, help provide 'microloans', small loans to help people get a small shop or business started. Great value per click!
  • Build me a home, Spanish site that helps needy people in Colombia build a home.
  • End Homelessness, help the homeless.

Goodle Good News

Slater sent me this which is funny, including the following

Scientists pack up: "Everything explained"

Scientists all round the world today went home for a nice cup of tea after a revolutionary breakthrough explained everything. The new unified theory (NUT) unites science and religion, explains genetics, the origin of the universe, quantum phenomena, and provides the first instant cure for a hangover in human history.
Scientists: "It's very simple actually, very embarrassing" New Scientist
