I AM BORED WITH PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT IRAQ. I AM BORED WITH PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT IRAQ. I AM BORED WITH PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT IRAQ. I AM BORED WITH PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT IRAQ. I AM BORED WITH PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT IRAQ. I AM BORED WITH PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT IRAQ. I AM BORED WITH PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT IRAQ. I AM BORED WITH PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT IRAQ.

I AM BORED ABOUT CLARE 'BRUMMY' SHORT TALKING ABOUYT BUGGING THE UN. SHUT UP.

Clare Short and Robin Cook for that matter are trying there hardest to get Micheal Howard into no. 10 by continually having a pop at the government the Tories must be loving it.

All this crap about David Kelly, Weapons of Mass Destruction (I refuse to call them WMD), Hans Blix is boring me to death.

We should start talking about is, us initially going to war on terrorism in Afghanistan because they harboured terrorists but also they had a fundamentalist religious government that outlawed basic rights to women and chastised minorities in general.

Who is going to have a word with the US trying to stop a women’s right to have an abortion and George Bush's new stance on gay rights. Fundamentalist Christians are no better than fundamentalist Muslims they just preach/segregate/kill people under a different text

Murphy's Law

Recieved this email the other day about Murphy's law in engineering and couldn't help laughing thus proving what a geek I am. The above link shows you all the laws, but below are the basics

BASIC LAWS
If anything can go wrong, it will.

If there is a possibility of several things going wrong, the one that will cause the most damage will be the first one to go wrong.

If anything just cannot go wrong, it will anyway.

If you perceive that there are four possible ways in which something can go wrong, and circumvent these, then a fifth way, unprepared for, will promptly develop.

Left to themselves, things tend to go from bad to worse.

If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously over looked something.

Nature always sides with the hidden flaw.

Well lets talk about todays footy. Forget the England Game, ATHLETICO COWLEY WON THE BLOOODY CUP

MATCH REPORT by Andy Clyde - Athletico Cowley WE WON THE CUP!!!!!!!!

Semi
ACFC 2 - 0 Food Barbers
Goals: Tom, Maz

Final
ACFC 1 - 1 Allen's Men
Goal: Maz
ACFC win 5-4 on penalties
Pens: Dave, Maz, Tom, Adrian, Andy

Click to EnlargeFinally, our season that promised so much ended in silverware. Ralphie at the Port Mahon was proud to get his hands on his first trophy at the Port and so should be everyone who played this season. On the night it was down to 10 of us but at least 6 others have taken part this season for us and they all played their part.

The semi saw us at our best and our most frustrating at the same time. We totally dominated the Food Barbers and really should have won by 5 or 6 goals. However, we kept our second clean sheet of the season (Russ's first) but to be honest Russ didn't have much to do. When we played, we showed glimpses of our best form. There were two sparkling passing moves, one which lead to the first goal, and an almost unbelievable finish by Maz for the second (when we all thought it had gone out for a goal kick) but in the end we did what we had to do and went through to the final.

The final was a different story altogether. Allen's Men are perhaps the most physical team in the league and seemed to have one or two new recruits (ahem!) in their line-up. At times, we were overwhelmed but we dug in. I don't normally pick players out but it has to be said that Russ had an absolute stormer in the final and without him we surely would not have won it. We took the lead very early on but couldn't get our game together after that. We've had plenty of results like this over the season the other way round - when we had the chances to wrap the game up early - so I suppose we were due this result. At 1-1 after full time, it wasn't over and we had to endure a sudden death penalty shoot out to win the cup. All 5 of our outfield players at the end of the match scored their penalties and we can't do much better than that. Russ saved one, and again that's all we can ask. Much celebration followed our winning penalty and rightly so. Ralphie even cracked a bottle of champagne back at the pub which we drunk from the cup and I'm sure that all of us who took part will keep some special memories of last night.

COME ON THE COWLEY!!!!!!

Colonels abroad - Nash

Turned on, tuned in, trekked out

Hey all,

Im ashamed to say it but after a month of hardcore trekkin down dirt roads,
haulin ass into Argentina over mountains and finally finishin it off with
national park trips I am trekked out. No more hills for this one ... Im
booked in for some R&R in cities for the next few weeks at least.

I dont want to sound like it wasnt fun though because it was one of the
greatest adventures to date. The scenery has been nothin short of
incredible all the way and the effort of hitchin and hikin has been rewarded
with great company all the way, Thanks mainly to Fred but also Dan, Uri,
Stephane for some quality shared moments.

Im now in Mendoza in central Argentina a haven of great wine, great food
(mostly meat but for you non-veggies ... 16oz steaks for 2 quid aint bad at
all) and some great scenery. Im here for 3 days and then off to Cordoba for
a few more and upto Salta in Nothern Argentina before crossin into Bolivia
for a second time and into Sucre (actually the Capital but there you go) ...
doing a Spanish course in La Paz hopefully and then into Peru for a bit
before I come home (Will B need your requests).

Back on 24th March and cant wait to see you all.

Love all round and take care of each other.

Nash

MATCH REPORT by Andy Clyde - Athletico Cowley Back to winning ways

ACFC 4 - 1 Didcot Saints
Goals: Dave x2, Tom, Morgan,

A MUCH better game than last week. we kept the ball on the ground, got our movement working and scored 4 very good goals. but for a lapse of concentration at the back, we would have shut them out. we'll need to play as well as this if not better next week to win the cup. still it was good to bounce back from the disappointment of last week and turn it on.

and so to the cup, don't know who we will be playing yet as they haven't updated the website. remember, we are running a minibus down from the Port mahon for the game so get yer mates down to give the cowley some vocals!

COME ON THE COWLEY!!!!!!

MATCH REPORT by Andy Clyde - Athletico Cowley Well, that's football for you

ACFC 2 (0) - (2) 2 Allders
Goals: Dave, Maz

OK, so we finished 2nd in the league, pipped at the last by IRS (how gutting it was one of the biggest bunch of w*nkers in the league!). But let's look at this in the cold light of day. We finished 2nd. That's a good effort. At the start of the season we were a scratch team; most of us had never played together, some of us who had played together had never played together on astro, and many of us had never met each other! We started badly (first four games were WLDL). If someone had offered us 2nd place after losing 4-0 to the Food Barbers, we'd have taken in and been overjoyed. And we've still got the cup to look forward to.

As for last night match, the less said really the better. It was a bitter disappointment and from the manager down we all let ourselves down. We weren't at the races for 20 mins by which time we were 2-0 down. We finally started to play and came back well and so so nearly stole it at the end. If only one of those shots that hit the post had been an inch the other way... If only we had a got a few more breaks... If only we has scored first... Football's full of ifs and buts. The best thing we can do is put last night to bed, learn from our mistakes and go into our last few games a better team. We can beat any team in this league when we play and we know it, we've just got to make sure we play like we can for another hour and a half and win the cup.

COME ON THE COWLEY!!!!!!

Villa signs Solano

For 1.5 million I don't really understand why Sir Bobby sold him. If you look how poor our midfield is I will take him!!

Leicester 0-5 Aston Villa

We are scoring goals at the moment and even Peter Crouch looked good, what is going on.
